Oasys Combi CC# command

Post by DeanoCalgary »

Hi, May I ask a favour from any one of our Korg Oasys forum members. I'm looking for a standard midi file to switch the Oasys to a different Combi via midi - that's it. I plan to launch the file from a midi player on a PC connected via midi cables to Oasys for the sole purpose of switching from one combi to another.

According to page Parameter guide pg 643, a standard midi file with a cc# instruction will switch the Oasys to a specified target combi. But, I don't have the starting point, namely a standard midi file that already works for that purpose. If I can get one, I will clone and edit it to make an inventory of combi change commands I can execute from the PC.

I'm under some time constraints and hope I can leverage some quality knowledge and prior effort from one of you. Apologies if this makes me look lazy, but I am that too.

Thanks so much.

That wouldn't be a CC (Control Change), that would be a PC (Program Change) message. Program Change is preceded by two CC messages: CC#0 and CC#32 (Bank Number MSB, Bank Number LSB). So, you need three MIDI messages to succesfully select a combi.

OK, good, I'm learning. Does anyone know, can I create a .mid file for this purpose using the Oasys itself?
