microKontrol hardware fault - faulty key

Post by off_key »

Hi All,

hoping someone knows something about this. Basically, playing the key normally produces no sound, but playing it very firmly will get some kind of noise (not normal tho), especially if it's held down and rocked.

I've had it 'repaired' once before at logitronics in melbourne, their assessment was it was just dust, but with very little use since then, the problem's come back, and isn't going way.

Since I thought it was weird that it would be the same key twice if it was dust, i opened the unit up and found the circuit board (part km37f) that connects to that key, and there are some faint blue markings (almost like pen lines) on the circuits that correspond to that key.

so am guessing if i could replace the board that would fix it - but i'm not sure where to buy a board (can post a pic of that btw if it'd help). any ideas anyone has about that or the cause, much appreciated....
