Have you tried tweaking any of the string sounds?paja077 wrote:I know, but basic sounds is not pretty.carlgoodhines wrote:Did you get the expanded software installed? There's dozens of string presets, all editable.
Everything from Solinas to Mellotrons.
Adjust the filter, effects or EQ. Try various waveforms, layer several string programs together in a combi. It's not that difficult.

M3, Triton Classic, Radias, Motif XS, Alesis Ion

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. As an M50 owner, I'd rate the analog strings the single strongest soundset on the whole EDS sound engine. In fact, they even stand up to the synth strings on my JX-8P, which are almost universally lauded as amongst the best analog strings ever...paja077 wrote:On M3 is strings sounds is not well.

Look to the right of your Touchview screen-there's a button called "page select".
Once you've pressed it, let your fingers do the walking...on the value slider or scroll dial. You'll come up with a version of the factory sound you like, I'm sure.
Make your own sounds, that's what it's all about. My original post mentioned that the sounds were editable.
Besides, who wants to sound like everyone else?
