How to make a sound fatter with Monopoly

Curious what you guys think is the better way -

1) Create another instance of the Monopoly just at an octave lower

2) Mess with the voices/unison. This seems to make it fatter, but I'm not sure. The original sound was 16 voices with Unison 1 (Multi trigger). When I increase Unison to 2 it seems to make it fatter, but I feel like the sound distorts at times (not from being too loud)

Any tips would be great. Thanks!
