I was talking to Karim last night and guys from another forum where Babosh
belongs natively...there is people that also know him but right now noone
knows anything about him, nothing to do with software, they are just wondering
if he is ok at all or what happened to him...its not ignorance.

Hi meso and some1uk03,

I know that Babosh worked it out himself because he had analyzed the innards of Styles and Sounds long before Korg Labs contacted him to express an interest in his work. I think the encoding/decoding method is similar to LZX which is used in Microsoft's CAB files. I am sure someone on a developer forum told me this but I cannot find the reference now.

Have a play with LibLZR and Unizx and see what you can do? Open source code is available here:

http://dl.qj.net/psp/homebrew-applicati ... -v011.html
http://main.aminet.net/misc/unix/unlzx.c.gz

Also I know that Babosh used a hex dump file analyzer, and he examined STYLE and SOUND files where he just changed one parameter say from a value of 01 to 02, and then he compared the two file versions to discover where the checksum was stored and where the relevant parameter value was stored. I know it was very laborious.

If you think Korg have information that can help you, then send a PM to tramannoni. I've asked the exact same question myself and nothing was available to me. (I was a developer many years ago). I know that mickb also asked Korg the same question but nothing was forthcoming, and it may be one reason that he halted development of PRM and XRM.

Best regards,
Rob

I'm not saying it's impossible for people to start a project and just drop it somewhere down the line, but this one is a strange one for sure. I have a hard time believing that he put so much effort in this and got this far with it, and all of a sudden stopped it. No matter what the circumstances are , it won't be terribly hard for him to just drop a note and say something. Hopefully, something good will come out of this. If not, we're back to square one again sadly.

Ok Salvik, I am really sorry, concerning the registration I think you have a Russian OS which is causing the problem of registration, anyhow I will send back you denotation. Sorry again letting you wait.

Rob Sherratt wrote:Babosh,

I do not think it is a bug in your software that creates SET files that crash the Pa2x. The same SET file loads perfectly on Pa800. Instead I believe there is a serious fault in the Pa2x OS that not only fails to import perfectly valid Pa800 SET files, but it also causes the catastrophic failure in the Pa2x that also blows the LED's. I have sent the SET file to Korg Labs and await their response.

I am sorry that in the circumstances that the "crash" caused multiple LED failures on my Pa2x I stopped testing. But I am still enthusiastic about your software and I hope as soon as Korg Labs get to the bottom of the various issues with the Pa2x that I can be of assistance once again.

Best regards,
Rob
Dear Rob, I am really very happy to hear from you again and I am very very sorry to what happened to the LEDs but I don’t understand how could a SET (even if it has wrong or bad data) cause such a failure in the hardware !!

Pa2x wrote:Some of the styles that uses USER programs on my kb when loaded would not show on your report. It only shows Original sounds, but this is only some of them, and maybe its my set, and not the software.

Also

I have found that when there are some corrupted styles in the set, the program can not produce full report, and also you cant copy/paste from that folder, so i had to load it onto the kb, delete those styles and than it works.

So the problem could be in some of the styles itself, because most of them are converted and merged from different keyboards.

So i would say, yes continue with the next step.

Pa2x

Can you please send me those files; I want to take a look

Hi Babosh!

Yes, at me Russian version OS. But give we will try to start by the second car. Please, if it is possible, I will give you ID programs from the second computer if it is possible send to me on it key, suddenly on the second computer the program will be started. It is very necessary to me. And if isn't present, money to me to send only on WebMoney as I don't have registration in PayPal. I to you pay through the intermediary company which also took from me percent. If you send them back money I won't receive them. I should send on WebMoney. But to begin with, I very much ask you, if it is possible, send to me key for the second car - will suddenly be started. Then I will be very happy and it will not be necessary to return money.

Babosh!

Huge to you thanks!!! All has earned on the second computer!!! It is not necessary to return money! Sorry, that at forum has written that you the bad person, but you me too understand - has paid more month back, and till now and hasn't used your program. Probably, on the first computer there were problems with OS, and on it registration has passed.

Once again to you thanks!!! I wish good luck to you and successes!!!

Yours faithfully!

some1uk03 wrote:Since you've managed to decode / encrypt the way KORG saves/writes to its files, its only a matter of time, until we have a decent stable Software to help us out.

So if you are busy with other stuff, do let us know so that some of us can at least carry on and take this further.

I too have only managed to Read & Rename & Save styles, but haven't figured out how to enter in to the Style properties, which is where the encryption comes in to place. Theres no point of everyone trying to create a separate software that does the same thing, when we could all get together and create ONE!

Same her Some1uk03. I know a bit about database programming and I wanted to put together at least a reader that would completely explore a SET. Put then I got hit by the encryption/compression obstacle! If I only can decipher this OC31 stuff, the rest would be very easy! I wonder how was he able to go that done? (oh man ,,, I wish he only respond just at least to give us this info!)

Rob (& some other members here) Didn’t you guys get Baboosh in touch with Korg about this and they gave him the OC31 decryption? If so, Can’t we at least get this part from Korg again?! I think that Korg helped him with even a lot more than just decrypting the files. I say that because first he was having lots of questions about the how thing tie togather, but then all the sudden he puts a flow chart that shows full understanding of the structure of a SET and how things talk to each other! And the guy doesn’t even own a PA keyboard!!!! (that’s just my thinking! LOL) anyways, Rob, Please hook us UP?

Thanks a lot.

Dear Meso,

Let me tell you something, you may believe or not, it is up to you
(about the software)

I did the whole thing alone
I got no single help form any one
I had no single info from korg

It was and it is not that easy as many think

The only thing I miss is a korg, if I can just get one

But another good point is that many Korg users helped me by testing, ideas and concepts;
I thank all of them for their support

Regards to all of you, hope to het next steps done to reach the final state of the software
