Hi Ron,
happy to read you found it useful, if you get stuck, I can go into greater detail. Once you've done it a couple of times, the process gets easier.

I kept the 1st & 4th beats in this break, because musically it sounded better to me than a couple of the other combinations I tried.
Once I got it right, only then did I import the break back into the style.

Just make sure that the break only has cv 1( which is the case in this style) If it has a cv1 & cv2, you'll have to export each one seperately, edit, then import them back in seperately.

best wishes
Rikki
ps

If down the track you ever decide to really get into some heavy duty editing ( haahaa), we've got the Exportation & Importation of a complete style function, which saves & loads a complete style as a midifile. Then you can really go about editing a styleto suit your needs.

Thanks for sharing the style(s) and for such a clear and concise explanation on how to create the breaks.

I have not done much of this type of thing but after reading your simple instructions, I'm going to give it a try. It will be useful in many songs.

It will happen exactly what will happen if you go from 4/4 to 3/8 or any
other normal TS...so it actually makes no difference, be it 2/4 or 4/4 at
normal tempo, this has been tested and retested and used an reused,
bear in mind, it the ONLY way to have a Half Bar on a PA series.

It makes all the difference. I don't see how you can change the Time signature from 4/4 to 3/8 or other combinations by changing the tempo. The only exception is , if the main TS is a whole multiple of the second TS... It's just basic music theory. In any kind of music you play, if the TS changes from 2/4 to 2/8 , You're basically doubling the tempo. If you go from 2/4 to 3/8 , you're still doubling the tempo, but now you have 3 beats instead of 2 beats. They can't replace each other.

I think you missunderstood me completely, noone says changing in a total
different TS, this has nothing to do with 3/8, its just basic moving from
one Tempo to another, not even changing TS but trust me it works.

Hi Kor

thats very easy. You are playing a 4/4 bar.
You want to have one 2/4 bar in the verse.

So press one time the tap/tempo button on the 3rd beat oft he current bar.
So the current bar (now 2/4) will end without delay and the new 4/4 bar will begin.

So you can end each bar in all patterns, when you press the tap/tempo button for one time !

Its very easy
Best regards from germany

Hi LiM,

I'll try that... An other possebility is simply stop the rhythm with the start/stop button, and start again after 2 counts (easely done with synchro start). But I prefer the break Rikki made for me...

thankyou,

Kor
