Loud sounds from media: preview of sounds question

Post by spinlud »

Hi all guys :D

Well, i have download few of banks of sound from korg download section. I would like to understand why, when i load a pcg file on the keyboard, in ones i can listen the sounds without load them on the keyboard, in other ones i have to load manually each sound on the keyboard to listen it. This depends on the size of pcg and the amount of my ram? i have only the 2 default ram slot.

thanks in advance for any help^^

You download my soundbank from www.freeband.wz.cz
you must click on PCG and download it
All of sounds you can listen without load.
this soundbanks is used int. sounds from the KORG Extreme.
When sounds from the PCG file used EXT. sample, it no play without load.

To make that a bit more clear, a PCG is programs, combis, and global data. If the programs only refer to samples in your keyboard's internal ROM, they'll play right away.

If they're programs that refer to samples, and you haven't loaded the samples, you won't be able to hear anything until you've loaded the samples into RAM. The samples obviously take a bit of time to load, but allow you to customize the keyboard to your needs and add sounds that aren't in the internal ROM.
