pa1x vocal pitch

Post by dragoncaz »

in past I had pa1xpro with pitch correction activated (very expensive)
maybe I don't need because I don't have problem sing
and maybe is good for who has problem singing
but believe me it's not so important how it cost it
the different listening was very very small ( I'm talking about only pitch
correction, not other effect) impercettible (I'm so good sing?)

is true that pa2x has minor function of vocal fx
there are only 3 harmony to left processor free for use Eq that pa1x don't have
but some function like harmony part on/off realtime was killed
and I don't understand why. I can understand floppy, cdrom, but while software remove ?
some time I dream that the hardware of vocalist installed in pa2x is the same like pa1x and is only the software to decide use only 3 voices harmony, and in future korg make you possibily trough software decide to use Eq or 4 harmony plus pitch correction... (if the hardware was not changed can be possibility)... or dream !?

Just a few thoughts.

I have used Pa1xpro for about 4 years (with TC Helicon vocal upgrade) and have loved it. I enjoyed the voice processor a lot. Do not have a problem with pitching myself but sometime it came in handy with other singers, especially if they are having a bad day. Voice modeling was also used for several songs.

Recently I bought Pa2x without actually looking and testing it. There was no store within 200 miles that had one on display. I just went for it primarily based on all the discussions and praise I found on the forum.

Although there are numerous features that are great updates like placement of new buttons and guitar mode, dimensional change and tilt screen, I also saw the loss of features that I frequently used on Pa1x and now I miss them sorely.

The foremost is the VP. It is not just the 3 vs. 4 part harmony. They also watered down the reverb and delay section. Overall vocal section is weak, almost as if they renegotiated their contract with TS Helicon. Also the XLR cable latch on the back has been removed.

Another modification is that each song setting in Pa1xpro allowed saving a unique Pad setting for each STS . Pa2x allows only one Pad setting per song (which limits some of the live control I used to have). Can't understand why such software downgrades were necessary.

Still love both Pa1x and Pa2x and will get used to the difference. However, sometime I question spending $3500USD is worth the upgrades.

Sincerely,
Best Regards,
