transposing a program with SW swtches
Hello, is there any way for me to set up a program so I could transpose it an octave higher with one of the SW switches? I know this is possible in program mode, but in combi mode this cannot be done with only one sound, so where can I set this up in a program so I could use it on only one sound when in a combi ? ( using AMS ? ) thnx
I posted a tutorial for you a short while ago, but then I removed the tutorial because I found problems/issues with it. When I figure out how to do the transpose without the problems I encountered, I will then repost the tutorial for you.

I have found a way to do it.Jugo wrote:Hello, is there any way for me to set up a program so I could transpose it an octave higher with one of the SW switches? 1) Go into Combi mode and select your patch, and goto the "P1 Controllers" page, and make sure the SW1 switch is assigned to "SW1 Mod. (CC#80)". Then go through each of the program patches that you have assigned in Combi mode, and check them all to see if pressing the SW1 switch activates any effect settings, etc. If the SW1 switch does trigger effects, etc, for some programs in your Combi, and you don't want the SW1 switch to trigger anything for those programs, then in Combi mode goto the "P5-2 MIDI Filter2" page, and turn off SW1 for any programs that are triggering effects, etc, when the SW1 switch is pressed.
2) For the program that you want transposed up an octave with the SW1 switch in Combi mode, edit the patch in Program mode, and goto the "P1 Basic/Ctrls" page, and assign SW1 to "SW1 Mod. (CC#80)". Then goto the "P2 Osc/Pitch" page and click on the "OSC1 Pitch" tab at the bottom of the screen.
3) Assign the Pitch AMS to "SW1: CC#80" and set the intensity to +12.00, and repeat these same steps for the "OSC2 Pitch" page, if you have OSC2 enabled. Also, make sure this patch doesn't have any other "SW1: CC#80" AMS assignments on any of the other editing pages, unless you want the settings triggered when you press the SW1 switch in Combi mode. Once you have finished editing the Program patch, write your changes to the patch, or save it to an empty slot in the User bank.
If all went well, the SW1 key should now transpose the program patch that you edited in Program mode, and all of the other programs you disabled the SW1 switch for in Combi mode, should remain at the same pitch.

Thanks for the info, I forgot about that setting/feature, since I don't use it much.kanthos wrote:I could be wrong, but can't you disable SW1 and SW2 for a program from within a combi, on one of the MIDI tabs?
