Please forgive this question if addressed elsewhere...I didn't see this issue specifically addressed in my Forum search.
How do I directly transfer MIDI track data in songs stored in 01W to Triton Extreme?
I tried the following: (1) connected MIDI Out (01W) to MIDI In (Triton Xtreme) and MIDI Out (Triton Xtreme) to MIDI In (01W); (2) set Internal/External MIDI control settings in both keyboards to BOTH; selected an empty Song in Triton Xtreme and hit Record; and (4) selected a loaded Song in 01W sequencer and hit Play.
What I got was the recorded song on MIDI channel 01 in the Triton Xtreme, but no multiple/individual track data, so I could not reassign instruments to the individual tracks in Triton Xtreme.
Am I missing something fairly obvious about the MIDI settings or must I use another way (besides direct MIDI recording) to transfer MIDI track data in Songs between the two keyboards.
I have a lot of old Songs in 01WFD that need to get over to Triton Xtreme with all individual MIDI track data intact.
Could someone walk me thru specific steps?
I would greatly appreciate it.

MIDI data transfer from Korg 01WFD to Triton Extreme

Hi rock1009,
I'm not sure if this helps ... Worth a try perhaps!
When you do the recording in the Triton sequencer, make sure you check the "multi rec" or something so that it will record all 16 tracks when the O1W starts playing. See if this method works.
Otherwise, you may save all your O1W songs as standard midi files and load them into the Triton sequencer (which is a bit more of a hassle).
Please bear in mind that the O1W is not GM compliance. So you may have to readjust the voices of each track on the Triton to get the right sounding of the actual songs.
Hope it helps.

Jack,
It seemed to port over after a few tries; for some reason because I had data in Song 4 on the 01Wfd, it wanted to default the data to Song 4 on the Triton X SD file, even though I had selected another (empty) song location to receive the data...after a few tries, it seemed to go to the selected empty song form without me doing anything else...MIDI sprites messing with me, perhaps?
Very nice film with music...very moving.
Regards,
