Korg PA50 screen gets dim

Post by killbill »

The screen of my PA50 after a couple of years, gets dim and blur. I can hardly see the display.

Any idea of how can I fix it? Is there any way to enlighten the screen in pa50?

Thanx

I have the same problem and I am sure others too.
luckly mine is just dim. LCD backlight died. I can still read the screen. I will not bother to get it fixed.

To be more accurate, as I sit on a chair and play, I can see no screen display. If I lean my body against the keyboard so that my head stands vertically above the screen, then I see the display normallly.

I don't have that problem, but mine is not old. I believe that you may need to replace the screen when it gets old.

I have never seen an lcd screen failing in 3 years, and I must say I am not playing every day either.
The truth is that PA 50s are not built as good as PA80s and high end Korgs.
If you are unlucky you will buy a poorly manufactured instrument even in the high end model like pa2x series.
It happened to my friend as his PA2x stopped booting.
He got aggravated and had to send it back to the dealer, eventually korg replaced his kbd.
It is a shame to get stuck with an instrument manufactured with bad parts and built with poor workmanship.
after spending over $3000 on an instrument you want to be sure it will start and everything will function after flipping the switch.

Moreover, when I turn the keyboard on, the screen is completely dark, and it might take up to 60 seconds to become bright. Few times the screen turns on normally.

Although I like the sounds of Korg most of any other keyboards, I think that Roland and Yamaha are of better quality keyboards

Is it possible to regulate the screen contrast in PA50 from the menu options, to make it darker or brighter?

Manual adjustment of contrast of the display is not in Korg PA50. If the light works fine but Contrast is bad then you need to look for lement D14 board display.
I had the same problem after master D14 replaced everything was OK.

Low bright in Korg PA50SD

Post by antoneeeey »

The Korg PA50SD Keyboard Display Brightness is very low, some time the brightness level is up and down.

Any idea for this issue, please share for how to solve the problem.
