Tom Sawyer Filter sweep for the R3 uploaded...

Post by blinkofanI »

Hi people,
Don't know if i'm out of touch here, but i remember when the R3 came out, a lot of people were asking for that classic sound from Rush song Tom sawyer. I just uploaded my program for the R3 and i think it's pretty close. Maybe everybody got one and mine will be another in a sea of patches, but anyway, enjoy!!

Just play the first and second E on the R3 keyboard and let it rock!! Sysex file is on channel 1. Make sure you enable sysex receiving on the R3 on the MIDI page.

I think it would be a better idea to post a link to your file here in the topic, because it seems that guys who run this forum don't update the download section that often...

Hi,
Well, Sharp and the others might be on vacation at this time of year. Anyway, i don't have a web site or anything else similar. Is there a web service to host a link or put the file somewhere where it would be available to all? I'm no internet genius and i don't intend to be!!!

Mediafire is where I store all my patches. It's free, really easy to use and it doesn't require you to be a genius of any sort :)

Also if you're a windows live or hotmail user, you get 25GB of free space online:
http://skydrive.live.com

I've noticed though that the URLs it generates sometimes causes blank posts on the forum. As long as you don't use any non-alphanumeric characters it would be fine but for example I sent some blank PMs the other day because the filename had brackets in it, which the forum didn't like within a URL tag...

Hi gang,
Sorry for the delay. We've had an heat wave last week and my home studio was an oven!! So, at the suggestion of someone here, i created an account at dropBox. It's my first trial, i hope the link is ok. Let me know if there's problem.

The sysex is on ch.1 and don't forget to enable sysex on the R3 midi page. Hope you like the sound. It should be played with first and second octave E notes. Rush are coming to my town this very week and they're supposed to do the Moving Pictures album from A to Z!!
