OK I know y'all live to meet upcoming rockstars, and I'm not one of them, but I have purchased this Korg Legacy software, and I'm trying to get it working with my SONAR 8.5 software, and the Wavestation is working OK although I have some issues with setting patches from different banks - hopefully someone can help me with that...
I have had zero luck getting any sound out of my SONAR 8.5 MIDI tracks when I try to patch them into the Korg M1 workstation. I can use the SONAR TT1 synth without any problems, it sounds like junk compared to the Korg stuff, but matching the recording software with the Korg has been pretty much a failure for me. I am here to plead for help, offer my aging flesh to the young and female as a sacrifice to get this stuff working. I currently have a label deal - which means almost noithing except I give my music away for nothing... - My genre is progressive music. I am looking to upgrade my sound with some truly great synth sounds, but so far on my own I have scored a big fat zero and I need to get this working. No, you havent heard of me and no, I never expect to be anything but a fly on the butt of the music industry. I do write good music though.
In addition to the TT1 synth, I have a couple external MIDI sound modules - Proteus 1000's which get some decent soundbanks, but they arent what I hear in the KORG synth collection.... But on the up side, at least I can get them to work.
I'm frustrated, and ready to see some progress. I hope there is someone who can help me seize the day and make this stuff work, cause its awesome. But unuseable.

Welcome!
Perhaps it might help if you gave us some more information about your setup and where the problem lies. For example, which version of Windows are you using? Which version of Legacy, specifically, and what type of copy protection? Does it appear to install correctly? What happens when you try to use it standalone? etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

Here are details....
Glad to have a respondent. I wasnt going to post a 3 page explanation if there were no respondents.
Deep Breath.....
I am running Sonar 8.5 studio edition on a Dell Latitude d820 Dual core pentium with 2gb memory. XP_Professional. Generally, the thing really does quite well. I have a 260gb disk, wich is about 10 percent full....Pentium4 - not sure of clock speed.
If you ned to know, Yes, I have checked the power plug, yes, it is plugged in and the machine is turned on, yes, I can run other applications on the machine.
I am running the Korg Legacy M1 and Wavestation Synths. I dont see an "About" tab so I can give you the exact version. Yes it is properly liscenced, and there are no "hardware verification" or protection devices - When I installed the software I had to go through a rather complex process of installing, then downloading a newer version and reinstalling.
The M1 and Wavestation versions are 1.1.5.0
When I double cick on the exe for each of the synths, they come up with a picture and a small keyboard that I can touch and sounds will play, based on the patch selected. I can select both instruments in SONAR as a softsynth, and the Wavestation will play, but the sounds that I see to select from are limited - There are tons of great sounds in the synth, but I cant seem to get to all of them from SONAR
When I play MIDI tracks through the Wavestation I hear the sounds (though the patches are limited) but I cant get any sound out of the M1 at all when I play MIDI tracks in SONAR. The same MIDI tracks work just fine with either the external MIDI Modules I have, the Wavestation and the Sonar TT1 soft synth that came with Sonar 8.5. But the M1 simply doesnt make any sound at all.
I hope that is a better description of where I am at. Looking forward to replacing some lame key sounds with some great ones.
