Post by peter m. mahr »

For good reasons in this section is not that much traffic, but there are many users I have not seen posting here for a while. What about Mike, Mag66 and of course Synthia.. just to name three. Charlie, you are on vaccation, right.. or busy with your CD?

Hi, Peter! I'm still here and still excited about my incredible OASYS. I've been busy with some filmmaking and other things is all. In fact, I've been sampling some E-MU Pro/Cussion drums for wave sequencing and general use.

How are you doing? How did the last album project go? I remember some incredible music from that.

As far as I know, Synthia sold her O and bought the M3.

Next film project, Wow !

Like very much the idea of making wave sequences with E-MU's Pro/Cussion. P/C had some pretty nice and cool processed sounds and the idea of using them for wave sequencing is excellent. Sometimes when listening to Beyoncé and other similar tracks (Snoop Dog, Timbaland e.a.) I am getting the impression that they are still using some of its sounds. I am curiuos and looking forward to hear your sounds. Guess you will use them for your next film project

I am fine, thanks for asking, Mike. :D

The last project - mostly tracks I wrote and made together with Ebse - made it on iTunes. If you got to their shop and type in "The Headroom Project" and look for the "Dominus Illuminato Mea" record, then listen to the following tracks
- watermeditation (Ebse and me)
- blue darkness (Ebse, Andreas and me)
- selve amiche (Jaqueline, Andreas and me; original track from Antonio Caldara 17th century)
- halla heij (Jaqueline/voice, Andreas/drums, Ebse/OASYS guitar solo, Otto/fretless bass and me)
- 2k7 (Ebse and me)
For the latter I have a newer version which is a remix done together with RCmusic. Posted a link here on KF recently in a dedicated thread.

All other tracks on "Dominus Illuminato Mea" are from Andreas. The five tracks listed above have lots of OASYS in them.

.... Synthia sold her O, like Daz, like RCmusic..... hm, I was thinking of selling OASYS, too. But actually I am glad that I did not. For me the right decision, so far.

Im still here too I just dont frequent the forums or make as many comments as I used to...I still have my OASYS.

Ive been programming for a new project and I have to say the OASYS has been invaluable.Shame to see that a few people decided to move on but thats life I suppose. There seems quite a few disgruntled ex Oasys owners which is a shame.

Hope all are well.

I'm here too!

I've been somewhat grumpy because of the expensive repair I had to do on the Oasys..

But, I'm over it now, and I am pitch bending everything! Drums, pianos, even organs. :D

Hey Everyone!

A shout back from humble little Canon City, Colorado. I've been working feverishly on the tail end my CD. I've been writing music since I was 12 but not seriously trying to produce my own CD until recently. I swear I thought I would have this thing done in a matter of a few weeks. Boy, was that estimate off course!!

I get on here a few times a week. A couple weeks ago I watched some home flick that I think Mike C. (I think it was Mike anyway) did with his wife....you know, where she comes out with the gun. I about blew coffee out my nose a couple times laughing so hard. Great stuff....man that looks fun.

Howdy Sharp, Peter, and Kevin! Curve, that sux about your Oasys breakdown. LOL @ bending pianos and organs!!! I gotta try it out!

Last note: I sure mis Daz and hope his endeavors are working out better for him. Good dude- and missed a lot here! I was actually afraid that Sharp might 'close the doors' on this place. I'm glad KF is still here. Wish I was more technically oriented so my contributions were of more value but I would definitely miss this place if it were gone.

Okay, big studio week for me! I might throw down another tune to annoy ya'll in the next few days. Heheh. I take criticism well and actually follow many suggestions here. Jgsidak suggested I remove the lead guitar from "The Quest" and I did just that. Good advice.

Best regards to all.

p.s. CD Baby suggests that " 'U' Can Dream" will get the boot- as a song title or CD title. So for the nearly 20 years that I have been thinking "U Can Dream" would be the name of my first CD and its title cut, it looks like it will likely have to be "You Can Dream." ...**sigh**

CD Baby won't accept U for a CD name? wtf for? I thought you could call a CD whatever you choose. Who are they to tell you, you can't?!
That'd really piss me off.
Did they give you a reason?!

Indeed! Along those lines, here's one that I did a couple of weeks ago. For those who aren't native English speakers, the lyrics are intended to be humorous; whether or not they succeed is for you to decide. :-)

Now, that's a thread I like a lot - thanx for starting it! 8)

Yep - I was on vacation and I'm busy finalizing my CD. 1.5 more songs to go. :D I even decided to add an instrumental one ... which made me recover my love for making instrumental music, too!

But THE news of the day - if I understood that correctly - is that you continue to expand your e-piano assortment. I wonder when you'll add the first acoustic one ...
