Pitch bend range in combi mode

Post by Rishat »

Hay folks, I've made a combi where in first program I've used a tone named screaming lead guitar C55. In the program mode I've changed the pitch bend range to -12 on -x and +2 on x and saved it using the write program command and its doing -12 and +2 when I'm bending but while copying and playing it in combi mode its giving me the default -2 and +2. I have looked over all the parameters in combi mode but still no luck. Any idea how can I get a -12 and a +2 of that program in combi? Any help will be highly appreciable.

Check page 3-5. The bend range might be overridden in the combi. Simply set it back to PRG.

Thanks Kim I have figured that out. I think it was the effect processor. Your word override helped me actually! I override the effects. Thanks so much!! :D

Effects have nothing to do with pitch bend. You cannot override pitch bend settings with effects. If you've got things working, then you've definitely done it by changing the pitch bend range in the combi back to PRG.

I know that effect has nothing to do with pitch bend but it worked in that way and I am happy for that..!! :D

And I'm saying, for the benefit of anyone else who uses the M50 and reads this thread later, that you're wrong and that unless your M50 is defective, you must've *also* changed the pitch bend settings in the combi. Perhaps you did so and forgot you did it, but I guarantee that in a properly working M50, effect settings and pitch bend are totally independent and anyone reading this expecting that changing effect settings will change the pitch bend will find out that this isn't actually the case.

Glad you got it working, but let's not leave incorrect information up for others to see.

Maybe the effect was a pitch shifter, with Dmod controlled by JS X.

Personally, if I'd done something and it had "just worked", I wouldn't be happy with that.

Understanding why it worked will help you to understand the instrument and get more repeatable and reliable results in the future.

True, though I'd think that if you were looking at the effects and saw that there was one called 'Pitch Shifter' used in your combi, that'd be a huge tipoff and you'd be able to figure out that it was that specific effect that was, obviously, shifting your pitch.
