PA800 get a little bit hot on the right ?

Post by alex_70 »

Hello,
I just bought a second hand PA800.
I noticed that a few minutes after the start up it gets a little bit hot on the right part. Mainly on the right side near the display and on the right speakers. The left part of the PA stays cold.
In the same time the display get slightly brighter colors on the right.
Do you have the same issue with your keyboard ?

Come on, 40 people read the message and nobody gave an answere ?
You just have to touch your PA800 with your hand to say if it's the same or not :?

It's normal Alex but LCD should produce same brightness after turning on your pa800 till turning off. Any way it's not big issue. Don't be afraid and enjoy your playing.

Thanks

Your display will be sensitive to temperature - personally I would get your PA800 checked out by a service centre. If it is overheating you could end up with more damage internally.

Cheers

Thanks to everyone for your answeres.
Mine get warm after 15 minutes or so but it's not really hot.
I read somewhere in the forum that you must set the contrast of the display folowing the temperature of your room, because it is is not the same if the room is cold or not.
So if that is true, it sounds normal that the right part of my display may look a little bit brighter.
Karma, I would prefer to know if the difference of temperature is a normal issue for this keyboard, because I don't have warranty to go at the service center and I would not want to pay if it is not a real problem.

duby2 : there are two metal covers where is located the video out interface. If we unscrew them, we have a nice opening in order to put a fan. No need to completly open the keyboard.
I'll try to put an old fan tonight and see what it does. I'll let you know.
