M50 owners due for a new free download from Korg.
In my humble opinion, I think that we as m50 owners should have a new free down load or at least a reasonable charge for combies, programs other than Vintage Keys....does anyone agree with this.

Well kind that you read mind...I was going to post the same request for korg.
For many countries, like mine (Argentina), the Korg M50 is not an entry-level workstation, or a semi-professional tool, If not, the most professionally Korg that you can buy, cause the M3 it's so expensive here, that you won't see almost nobody playing it here.
So...considering this, I think that Korg should provide more upgrades, for the systems, and sounds.
I think that they can take a look to the post http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=42529 in where lot uf us post several opinions.

Same here, I'm afraid, Guille. And with currency exchange control, you can imagine.guillex wrote:For many countries, like mine (Argentina), the Korg M50 is not an entry-level workstation, or a semi-professional tool, If not, the most professionally Korg that you can buy, cause the M3 it's so expensive here, that you won't see almost nobody playing it here.

So you have been through every possible option of changing sounds in combinations, adding effects, arp settings, filter changes and so on with the factory sounds I take it?Musical Dunce wrote:In my humble opinion, I think that we as m50 owners should have a new free down load or at least a reasonable charge for combies, programs other than Vintage Keys....does anyone agree with this.
In my experience I would guess not. It's very easy for users on this forum to cry out for new sounds but the reality is that most people will simply just click the increment button, play a few notes then press it again and say.. 'well these sounds aren't very good' and never explore further the possibility that you can make your own sounds.
I urge you to get into to the keyboard and explore all it has to offer before asking for new sounds. You have a vast pallet of things to use here and you can quite easily create hundreds and hundreds of your own sounds very easily.

Hey nobody is crying here. If you dont want an upgrade of O.S, with more tools and improvements, or more sounds, it's ok. I've already did 70 prg, and 50 cmb. But not everybody knows how to do this perfect, and they just edit a little bit sounds, so it's natural to ASK (not cry) for some sounds.mikemolloyuk wrote: So you have been through every possible option of changing sounds in combinations, adding effects, arp settings, filter changes and so on with the factory sounds I take it?
You are an advanced user, that even knows how to repair a workstation, but not everybody is a master advanced user.

Korg supporting their product for the masses.
I spend on average 24 to 30 hours a week getting in and tweaking and creating sounds. However, this is not some run of the mill Casio with little to none fan base, there are literally thousands of us who have purchased this board and are diligent in in taking this instrument to the max at their own learning curve and artisitic ability. You mean to tell me that a simple gesture as throwing the faithful consumer a bone is a cry? How about it being a token of appreciation for those of us that support Korg. Come on now.... you mean the gurus at korg can't throw us a lil something to whet the creative pallet. I vote yes they can and they should.

I think Korg is waiting for all of us to start sharing our work, like I think it happened to the Triton series.
Anyhow, having a couple of old vintage keys (not pianos, but organs or mellotrons for a change) won't hurt

Yes, there are tons of Triton sounds out there, but the days of sharing banks of patches seem to be at an end. I have no idea why.mocando wrote:I think Korg is waiting for all of us to start sharing our work, like I think it happened to the Triton series.

Martin -- did you get your hands on my Mellotron sounds for the M50? I don't have that keyboard anymore, but I have continued to tweak them on my M3. I would be happy to share what I have now (they should be compatible). I haven't been able to nail down the choir sounds, but the violins are pretty close. I continue to work on the choir...

Wow, that would be awesome Bill. I have some basic mellies, but still not close to the real thing. I'd love to give a shot at yours since I'm needing all the strings and choirs I can get for my Genesis combis.BillW wrote: Martin -- did you get your hands on my Mellotron sounds for the M50? No problem...I posted them on that ning site a long time ago. I can get you an updated version. I will actually be working on them this weekend. I have a Genesis organ patch (w/phaser), Taurus pedals and Tron Violins that sound pretty good. I'm still working on the choir.mocando wrote:Wow, that would be awesome Bill. At one point I had started a project of programming ARP Pro Soloist lead sounds on the M50 but have abandoned that in favor of developing them for the EXB-Radias instead. As much as I loved my M50, the M3 is far more capable.

Well, I'm still using you prosoloist patches, since I have nothing else that resembles that sound. I tried to change the sounds to be like in 2007, since they are more "modern". I say modern since they are not a product of old synths, but what Tony decided is today's sound for that particular part. One of the is the In The Cage first solo, that for me is very similar to the Wavestation's mini lead but not so phasy.
Still I'm using both your prosoloist sounds in Firth of Fifth and the Cinema Show's leads on the In The Cage medley. I'm playing the 3 sides live version.
