copying effects from program into seq

Hi

I'm probably doing something really basic wrong. I'm working with Cubase 5 and Korg M3. I've always used the Korg X5D with Cubase and it's so easy but obviously I want to be using the sounds from the M3 now. So I'm going into seq mode and using track one to do a click track. Then track two I want a guitar but it's really dry so I want to copy the effects from the program. As soon as I copy from the program the tracks on my song are all silent. It's as if it mutes every track. What am I doing wrong?
