I was going to add to the Keybed thread but I was wondering does anyone have issues with some of the LEDs randomly blinking when you play?
I've had my SV1 since June and I noticed the clicking keys straight out of the box, mainly a few low keys and middle E which is irritating. I was willing to let it go as the sounds more than made up for it.
For the past 3 months tho LEDs are starting blink every now and then. It usually happens to an LED around the area of a key that your playing making me think it's shorting out from the shock? It can be any LED from a dial to a button...
Best of all the shop I bought it from has now closed down... Going to email Korg...

You should add to the keybed thread. Korg needs to get the hint that its not just two people.Macneil wrote:I was going to add to the Keybed thread but I was wondering does anyone have issues with some of the LEDs randomly blinking when you play?

I hope Korg reads this. Now they are losing potential customers due to these issues. All I can say is despite these issues it is a KILLER board, and a hell of a lot of fun to play. It's extremely frustrating! So far the positives far out weigh the negatives, but that may change. I've also had MIDI issues which I posted on another thread. Korg could not help me with those so I created a few of my fav sounds with the RX noises disabled to get around it. If left on, they jump up to full volume every time I hit play in my DAW, but that's another story...scales wrote:I was about to fork out the cash for one of these, but all of this clicking keys and blinking lights is freaking me out. Maybe I should get a Yamaha.

Well to be honest there isn't really a yamaha in this market. The ease of use and sounds are fantastic. Not to mention it looks amazing. It seems there are only a few of us with the issue. It is an issue..., but I am not sure if its a bad batch or something. I would suggest getting one from a retailer rather than online.scales wrote:I was about to fork out the cash for one of these, but all of this clicking keys and blinking lights is freaking me out. Thats a big part of my problem. I can't just take my keyboard back. I would say you stand a good chance of getting a good keyboard. I have played several showroom boards without the issue.
Well they haven't lost me as a customer. I've pretty much decided on the SV1-88. I've looked at the CP-5 (very nice but too heavy), and the Nord's (nice but overpriced in my humble opinion). The SV is just perfect for what I need. I just don't want to deal with quality control issues. I've had several Korgs of the past (SG, T-2, Trinity) I still have and use on a regular basis my Triton Ex76. I've never ever had quality control issues with Korg products. I really hope that they are not starting to cut corners.

I've tried replying 3 times and it keeps timing out, sorry...
Korg UK are bringing it in to have a look.
So all is good regardless of the shop closing down.
I would still buy one even with the niggles and I knew the action was a bit stiff on the day but I still left with the SV and still would. If you play around with similar priced and below I don't think there's anything close. That said, you would expect the keybed to be much better... and clicking keys is very poor. Seems the flashing leds is maybe just a fault with mine.
