R3 external midi cc?

Can I use an external midi controller to send midi cc messages to an R3 synth to change it's parameters?

Basically making it as if there are more knobs to work with?


I ask for two reasons:
I could easily expand the interface using an arduino and a bunch of pots and
I could record sequences of parameters changes through midi cc on my mpc, then play them back.
