At 1:25 is the lead sound.
Will I need an effects pedal to get this sound? I tried an overdrive pedal and it made all my lead sounds worst to be honest.
How can I achieve this sound?

You might not need any overdrive. I think this is mostly a modulated pulse waveform with the oscillators stacked in unison. Not sure how you would do this on an M50, though. You might try using the envelopes and LFO to mix back and forth between two different pulse waveforms assigned to oscillators 1 and 2. If you have the Radias rack or EXB-Radias, you would use an envelope and/or LFO to slowly vary the pulse width over time. Eddie Jobson used this alot in his UK work. See if this is similar to what you are looking for at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEKARbho ... re=related at about 00:50.
