Notch filter on the radias?

Post by winstonsmith »

Hi, I know there is a bandpass filter..

Hmm as I type this, an idea springs to mind: maybe tonight I will have filter 1 as a low pass and filter 2 as a high pass in series, this would make a notch!

Thinking about that for a while and only popped out when I started typing lol.

But any other ideas, tips and tricks for the notch filter action?

You can get a very shallow (not complete) notch when the filter blend is between low- and high- pass modes. It really sounds more like a phaser's allpass filter, but it can be quite useful.

By the way, for your idea you need to put them in parallel, not series.

YES MATE! That's what I am talking about, it worked a treat. Play with the low pass and high pass and it sounds really good - modulate one and not the other. I will post up some results as audio later tonight, please check back.

yes... more strokes the surface of the sound rather than cutting through it :]
