Rack mounting the radias

Post by Rosen Sound »

after A LOT of searching the forum i figure its time to ask this.
I need to put my radias in the rack, however ive read you need to leave 1 unit about it for cables and stuff. I cant seem to achieve this, i just made some right angle cables and right angle midi cables to acomodate this..

then i realize. THE POWER PLUG IS THE NEW PROBLEM.

has anyone found a solution to this? i really dont want to have to leave another rack space open concidering i want to get a power conditioner :x

thanks in advance :)

It seems you should already know the answer... angled IEC cable?!

First of all thank you for the reply! i actually didnt think ide get one on this thread 0.0

however, the link you showed me is not what im looking for :(
the Radias uses the special power supply similar (or exactly) like the Karma

http://korgparts.com/products/105/Korg- ... Supply.htm

so if you know of a solution please tell me! as of now i have solved the issue in a bootleg fashion.

It just so happens i was able to re arrange my rack so my kurzweil micro piano is above the radias, this module is a half rack so i scooted it to the left, and milled a hole so i can fit the radias power adapter through without stressing the cable :) and i ordered some hosa right angle midi jacks and i already have some average right angle quater inch cables! so it seems im set :)

but if you do know of another way PLEASE say so

thanks again :)

Doh! Of course... it's not a standard IEC connector. Sorry about that... have only just finished the first coffee of the day and it's Friday!

Personally I'd use a 2U blanking plate, possibly with a grill. From an asthetic point of view. Interestingly it looks like it might be possible to mount two Radias modules directly above eachother due to the wedge shape of the module.

I was actually thinking about mounting mine in a DJ rack mixer case, it is the right size, and would pack away easily.

Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked. I was going to say, perhaps you can find a right-angle 4-pin DIN adaptor?
