is there an FC6 footswitch variant to control the A3?

For a while now I've been trying to find a midi footswitch that works with the A3 besides a korg FC6 (way to costly for me) when i got the A3 from a friend it came with some off brand midi foot switch but it didn't seem to do much of anything. Is there anything out there that i can use to control the A3 or is the FC6 the only worthwhile controller? thanks
