Hi all!
I like a lot of things about the R3, thinking about buying one. However every soundclip on youtube features trance/techno/what-ever-the-kids-call-it-now-a-days type sounds.
I play prog rock. The R3 has got the pads covered, no doubt. But how about the leads? I haven't been able to find a single lead sample thus far. The sounds I'm looking for are both vintage type Rick Wakeman leads, but also powerful, precise high speed Jordan Rudess/Yngwie Malmsteen type leads.
Is the R3 the wrong instrument for me? Should I go for something like the Nord Lead 2x instead? Twice as expensive and no built in effects...
Thanks in advance!
R3 powerful lead sounds?

The R3 can do all that and much more. Most of the 'classic' leads are very straightforward and you can program them in few steps.
Not sure if they would come under the presets though, but a synthesizer only really shines when you program it and make it your own

The R3 does have great leads, but i find the Radias being more powerful for those things. If you have the extra 2 hundred, pick up a used Radias rack
