The TrEx is better for metal of any kind than any other Triton. It's got TUBE FX valve force. It has an expansion slot for the EXB-MOSS, and doesn't need EXB-PCM cards, since it has a massive ROM, with RAM expansion for more samples, and sampling built-in. It has USB storage and loading. It has digital S/PDIF output. It's worth it. Sell stuff. Sell your family's stuff. Sell your friends stuff. Sell your bandmates stuff. Any metal band probably has a guitarist, bassist, or drummer with expensive gear that they don't need. They will forgive you when you get a TrEx and they hear it. It takes about 4 hours to play all the presets for just 10 seconds each. It has 5 times the ROM of the Triton Classic. It can use USB harddrives and CDROMs. It has a Compact Flash slot for direct loading of samples. It has about double the polyphony of the other Tritons. Skip the rest and get the best.

I know there's lots of students from Turkey attending universities in the USA. Find one that will buy a TrEx with flight case to import for you.

it really is fantastic for metal! dont be fooled by other melodeth players like marco snec of kalmah, he only uses it as a controller!

guys you all right but it will be my first keyboard and i know nothing to play . so as a enthusiastic one triton studio will be enough as first synth . in my opinion.. i am searching thank you all..

In that case x50 is real thing for you!
Same as TR, but it has no sequencer (beginners don't need this) and it is the ugliest keyboard in the world (after m50).
It is very cheap and I think that you can still buy it brand new somewhere.

robbinhood, you are talking nonsenses. This man wrote that it will be his first keyboard, and he's beginner.According to his earlier posts,he has no very high budget.So, any synth will work for him.(I bought casio ctk800) when I started.

Triton Extreme cost x4 more than TR OF COURSE IT'S BETTER!!!.

I can post something funny too, Extreme sucks, get OASYS lol.

Oh sorry, i wasnt aware that he wanted to pay twice...
in my opinion, always get a better synth if you plan on pursuing it. Why? cause theres no point in buying something crappy just to find out you need something better, then having to pay more AGAIN. what if he wants to record some midi? hed have to go out again and find a triton! cause X50 doesnt have crap! it cant even load sounds on its own! it needs to be tethered to a computer to be useful at all. not to mention, a 70$ casio has better keys then those things. biggest piece of crap korgs ever made.

Sorry man, theres a fine line between a beginners synth and wasting your money.

The Triton Extreme doesn't cost 4 times as much in general. That depends on where you're purchasing it, and the original poster didn't say he lived in Turkey until after he posted 10 messages in the thread. Sure, the TrEx may be more expensive in regions with an extremely limited availability of used gear. That's the problem of that market. It would be more expensive to buy any gear there, and of course the better gear will tend to cost a lot more. He also said he wanted to use it for metal, and the TrEx is clearly better for that purpose than the TR or X50, so it's very reasonable to recommend it as the preferred choice. The buyer can judge for himself based on what prices he sees.

We can't research the local prices for every piece of gear suggested here, particularly if the person doesn't inform everyone of such an important factor up front. I got my TrEx61 for $745, and I frequently see TrEx88s for under $1,000 throughout the USA, often less. The TR that the OP described wasn't even working right. So if you live in NoCheapKeyboardistan, that's not our fault. Instead, tell us what specific keyboards are available and their prices in the region, so that we can give better advice based on the relevant information.

i am a guitarist experienced.. so i am not zero about music playing. i want a built-in seq. on synth ..my money is limited with 950$-i hate the secondhand market here everyone trying to soak each other -the prices in here-

wow! those are some prices!

I strongly encourage you do save up some dough and get ONE of the tritons (not le) you will just overall be happier in the long run, dont forget the karma! great board and is indeed a triton.
