Load Pa800 Set to Pa3x

Post by mercede1 »

If i load my Set which a made and use for the past 3-4 years on my Pa800 in to the new Pa3x.... the styles and sound performances will sound right OR i must start fix again everything from scratch(i ask that because many people including me, will sell their pa800 or pa2x and will use the money to buy the new pa3x) :?: :? :?:

So far Korg have maintained upward compatibility - I can't see that changing much.

When I get my PA3X - I'll let you know. (Could be a while  )

Cheers

If they change the quality and dynamic of the sounds, or replace a sound altogether, that will affect the balance of the mix. You might have to do some minor editing.

And this brings the Question:
Why spend 3500$ for a Synth on which you will Load ONLY the set from
the OLD machine you had? Why not keep the old one???

I've always asked this question...whats the purpose, showing off?

Rumor has it that you cannot use your old sounds and styles from the old to the new, something about structure and different slots, the PA3x has a lot more, if that is true then that means you have to start from scratch. :(

Korg quoted that their aim was always to support upward compatibility where possible, so it will be interesting to see what the PA3X can do.

If it isn't upward compatible then a lot of people will be keeping their PA2X's.
I for one, use several of the outstanding styles from the i3 (these were bigger and better in some cases than the current PA2x styles - "Blues" is a classic example) and also from the i30 and PA1X and also the different styles from the PA588 - yes!! some of them (PA588 styles) have the same names but are actually different!!!

So upward compatibility is important to me.

It wont be as easy as it was PA1X to 2X or i-Series to 1X and 2X...
This is a WAY too different structure, it will load most of the stuff but it will
also need a lot of work too. Dont forget, this one has Guitar Mode 2, Waves
Maximizer Plugins, individual FX processors e tc...maybe different ROM too.

Under specs...styles: it says 'Compatible with old "i-Series" and Pa series Style format'

So, we will have to see in reality what that means.
