Create Jarre sounds with this tutorial for PA500

Post by gwb74 »

I found this link with a link to a jarre pcg file (triton)

http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... .php?t=100

i'm looking a long time for jarre sounds for the PA500.
I tried to load the file into the PA500 but i get an error
"warning: "this is not a Pa file"

Is there a way to convert this file for my pa500?

If it's only a PCG file without samples then load those sounds to a friend's PA800/2X, save them in PA format and then load them to your PA500! It may work!

Here's a direct link to that file.

And yes, it will load into a Pa Series keyboard, but you will loose the IFX data. You have to use the IMPORT option I believe to load Triton data into the PA-Series.

Sorry it was so long ago since I last did this, but rest assured it will load the data for sure.

Sharp.

There is this brilliant musician in France (named Olavier) who recreates the Jarre sound and it is absolutely fabulous.
Not only the styles, but also the sound is striking good.
You can load these (PA50, I believe) styles in your PA500 without any problem.
You just have to tweak some of the sounds.

See Youtube or Google, and you'll surely find some great examples and styles.
I think you can even get his styles for free (but I'm not sure).

Par example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qft0IczinjM

or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RF5G59TVY08
Musical grtz, Frans

Play in style. ;)

RTFM
Press the RECORD button to access the Sampler Functions and look at the different menu's that come up on each page in that mode (touch the tab in the top right of the screen). You will find it on one of the pages. Which one I can't remember as it's years since I last imported Triton PCG files.

Sharp.

Nope. won't work. Can only import SMF files. no PCG. even the manual speaks only about importing SMF files... it doesn't say anything about PCG

Ok, well that was a waste of time. Neither the Pa500 or Pa2X manual say how to do this.

Since your pa500 does not have this Record button I'm talking about, I can't guide you.

Guys... can a Pa2X user sort him out? Trust me, your Pa2X does have this feature and you will only find it in the Sampling Mode. I'm 100% sure of this, so much so I'd even bet money on it 8)

Update.... I found a mention of it in the Pa2X manual, but no instructions .

See page 251. It says it can read but not write Triton format PCG files.

Hey gwb74,

For you and all the jarre fan, I did put the sounds you asked for on 4 share. Mind you, they are reprogrammed for the PA-800 so you have to replace the multisamples when loading them in your PA-500.

You will find the sample names in the text file.

Please let us know if it's working oke

Thanks Willem H for the help, but the file still won't load into the PA500.
i can open the pcg file, and i can see the seperate sample names, but still can't load them. I Still got the message "this is not a pa file". don't know what you mean by replace the multisamples.

Hello together,

i think: NO CHANCE at all to LOAD SAMPLES into a PA500.
Because the PA500 has NO MEMORY / No Option for Saving SAMPLES.

But You can Build Sounds from the ver RICH ROM-ON-BOARD Sounds.

I remember a Set localized on the Korg-Meyer-Server with SYNTHIE-Sounds...
all were build with the ROM-Material under vast changement of the
SOUND-EDIT - Parameters. It works. Containing Jarre-Sounds !
