Things you like most about your Triton Extreme

Post by Goom »

We have another thread currently, mentioning dislikes with the Triton Extreme. This thread is for listing all of the the things you like MOST about your Exteme. I'll go first....

My favorite things about the Extreme are:

1. Mutiple synth engines, plus sampling.

2. All of #1 sound great.

3. The LCD makes a great night light (joking!)

What other synth engines are in the Triton Extreme besides rompler?
(Sampling and MOSS (as an extra) don't count).
RADIAS-R, Triton Extreme w/EXB-MOSS, Electribe EMX-1, Reason 3.0.5

True, the MOSS board is an add-on, and sampling isn't that great unless you top out the memory and make use of media to save it all.

These options are what make the Extreme such a great synth for me. How about you?

Sampling is still using the same synth engine, just your own samples.

As for my favourite thing about the tritons, the arpeggiator is great and very programmable. Of course I use a KARMA now which is even more fantastic!

I started the other thread, but i like this one!
For starters, i love my extreme.... I made that thread so i could see what shortcomings others saw, wich i may or may not have noticed.

My favorite things are of course that tube... really fattens up my patches. the keybed is the s**t. one slider, ribbon, and 4 assignable knobs and 4 way joystick is honestly the perfect live controller point. Thats what i HATE about other keyboards, the clutter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the triton rids of many dedicated buttons with the touchscreen wich is awesome! Even the karma, wich has more knobs and buttons then most other tritons, somehow doesnt feel cluttered at all! having 1000 faders and a button to access every octave and filter i think is a little weak. the last thing i wanna do is look around when im shredding lightning speed.

the assignable outputs is also nice, most rolands have really crappy routing capabilities with those.

I love my extreme :) i just wish it loaded samples on startup!
But being an ex-triton classic owner... using 4 floppies to load up a piano sample that takes 5 minutes is total bs, so loading 4 complete stereo multisamples in under a minute is a godsend for me.....

Lots of killer waveforms and patches. My favorite Korg combi will always be "Romance Layers". I still go to my Triton for killer patches and often find presets that are exactly what I'm looking for, or ones that are very close and easily tweakable.

Some sounds are becoming noticeably dated on the Triton Extreme, but it still rocks the house.
Roland Fantom G8, Yamaha Motif XS7, Korg Kronos 73 (on order), Korg Triton Extreme 76, Roland AX-7 Keytar, numerous rack synths, and a bunch of guitars.
