On ebay they are going for $600-$800 new and used. It all depends on the person buying and selling.

Not to mention, the R3 uses the worlds WORST keys.

Youre gaining probably the worst keybed EVER found in keyboards!
go to your local shop and play the Maudio Keyrig 49. and tell me if thats the keybed youre content with. I guarantee you wont be! They are literally on TABS. wich means they BREAK REALLY FAST. I get these in ALLLLL the time!
the Radias keybed isnt much to vouch for either, but it sure is better then the R3.

if you want more hands on, get a tripple tier stand and rig it so the radias sits RIGHT above your master keyboard.

So can someone tell me why you have to pay $200 more for the Radias with the keyboard, what is so special about it?? From what I hear, nothing. I hate when companies charge $100-$500 more just for some extra keys while it does the same and has the same as the keyboard with 25-88 keys.

AFAIK the only advantage I have noted with the Radias KB is that without it, the Octave Up and Down buttons on the Radias become useless. Don't forget too, that the Radias KB includes the mounting frame which in fact is/was a design aspect that made the Radias look very different from other synths. If you liked it or not is another question.

I sold my Radias KB after getting the VP-770. If I would need a KB again for the Radias, then I would consider an Alpha Juno, which offers the same KB functions, has a clean design and additionaly gives you a nice vintage synth engine.

The R3's keys do bother me at times. Feels like they could snap at any moment if I play too hard. I had a roommate with the Nord Lead X2 and the microKORG; both felt almost the same. It's weird that so many VA synths seem to have light, bouncy keys. I suppose that's to accommodate velocity triggered settings. The Roland SH-201 I have has stiff and solid keys.

The SH-201 keys were ok compared to my R3. I guess I was more used to my R3. The best keys I have played on was the Virus and my Axiom. Both are solid with great feel to them. But that is just my opinion.

The SH-201 feels better compared to the R3, but this is coming from an analog point of view. Most of the analog synths I've played with didn't have velocity or after-touch settings, the keys always came down quick and solid without any bounce. The first thing I do with any synth before programming analog type sounds is turn the velocity settings off.

When I'm famous, I'm having a keybed made of diamonds and young children's tears fashioned for my master MIDI keyboard. And they will be sharpened to the point where if you don't hit the key dead center, you lose a finger.

a radioshack keyboard from the 80s might have a better feel then the R3 lol... Back then it seems quality was over the quantity of parts they could make without worrying bout $$$.

They will break btw, they are literally on TABS held by nothing, not even a spring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if you have them pressed down for too long threy WILL bend

I actually have a Casio CT-310. The whole thing is made of plastic and yet keys are indeed better, haha.
