iElectribe - Set the pitch of each step? Like with the ES-1?

Post by TMothy »

Hiya, I'm new to the forum, but hope to be finding some good info here.
A long time ago I used to have one of the older Korg Electribe ES-1 samplers. Like a lot of other stuff I had to sell it when my financial situtation got bad. Might get another one day...

Anyway, back to the point... I now have an iPad with iElectribe installed. Its fun, I like it a lot (except the patterns it comes with, I guess just not my style), but there is something I can't figure out how to do like I could with the ES-1.

With the ES-1 I could manually edit the pitch of a sample on each step within a sequence. With the iElectribe I want to be able to do the same with the synth parts, I know I can record the motion of twisting the pitch dial, but it is impossible to get exact pitches.

Am I missing something here? With the ES-1 I could tell each step what pitch to play at. Is there any way to do it with iElectribe?

I guess the answer is that this is one of the limitations with the iPad iElectribe when compared to hardware Electribes... Shame.

I have emailed Korg and suggested that this would be a good improvement. Yeah, I know, highly unlikely to make an difference, but if you don't ask you don't get!

This is bugging me too. I really need a more precise way of controlling pitch other than recording motion of the 'pitch' knob.

And a ribbon controller for gate arpeggiators would be nice, but not as needed.

Thus I have also emailed Korg on this subject. Didn't ask for the ribbon though, one step at a time. Didn't want to annoy them(!).
