I thought that by saving to an SD card you had your back up.

Yes, you can reload all the programs, combi's...whatever from an SD card. The first thing in the appendix in the owners manual tells you how to copy tthe data to the SD card.

After this is done, you only need that SD card to restore all the data.

hey thanks so much for all the replies! :D
really appreciate the advice

as mentioned, i ended up picking my favourite patches, copying them to the USER category and then i can select them by using the 1-16 buttons on the right - it is working out nicely! :)

only thing i wish for is that the microstation software editor has a "right click" copy patch function (if there is a copy function i can't seem to find it) would make it so easier to copy patches quickly to the USER catgeory

but yeah all is working fine now! :)
thanks

...addtionally didnt I read if you change programs in combi mode the changes only relate to that program in that combi?

**I posted this reply in another thread and thought I'd post it here as well since its related.***

I haven't tried this but should work in theory, I think... Not at the keyboard at the moment.

Saving tweaked sounds, whether in Program or Combination in Seq. mode as a song.

Example: Lets say I want to use these 3 Combi Sounds in this particular order, back to back for a song called "Generic Ballad Song".

Keys- 002 ApolloKeys- *Verse*
Strings- 008 OCt. Strings- *Chorus*
Guitar- 002 A. Gtrs&Vox- *Bridge*

Go to the sound and make your tweaks (if need be) and go into seq mode. Save the Sound as GenBlldVerse.sng..ect.. ect..

GenBlldverse.sng -Keys
GenBlldChorus.sng- Strings
Genblldbrdge.sng- Guitar

Do this in the order of your set with each idivdual song and all you have to do is press the increment button to go to the next sound.

Again this is all in theory as I'm not in front of the keyboard.
