Maybe, instead of bad capacitors, black market parts and other conjecture posted above, what's really happening is demand is exceeding Korg's ability to produce an initial run of the product for the US market. So the product will be on allocation and in short supply. The pre-production, pre-Japan disaster schedule that KorgUSA put together with your reseller is now more concrete and maybe, Korg is only able to supply 1/2 or 1/4 of the units the reseller had requested, so pre-orders get pushed out.
It has been establish, the Kronos is shipping in all three varieties.
Look at Yamaha. When the Motif XF came out you could only find it at Guitar Center (maybe Sam Ash, don't know for sure). Sweetwater and other online retailers didn't get it till at least a month later, as I recall. In late April you could buy a Yamaha MOX6/8 from Sam Ash/GC. Sweetwater expects their first shipment in a few weeks. I would think that if Yamaha could supply all their resellers with product on the initial run, they would. Instead they seem to get it out to the biggest resellers first. And this is with products that had modest pre-sale demand--nothing like what apparently is going on with the Kronos. From what I've seen, Korg approaches this more democratically. Maybe it's first come, first served. I don't know.
My gut tells me we'll see some Kronos in the USA in June/July.
Busch.

SEPTEMBER
I'll leave my pre-order in, but not sure I'll care about it much by the time it comes out.
Mr McHale,
3 months ago I wrote..."Kronos" will be start to shipping with luck in September or October, and maybe, maybe"...as usual I received your critics...I was TOTALLY RIGHT!! YOU DUMM....something more to say?..."Say No More".
