Ridiculous in version 1.0.4 WTF!
Motif XF takes only 45 seconds!

Once it boots it's lighten fast at everything though.

The Motif XF can take 1 hour to load 1GB of samples. How about that...!!!

it wasn't the fastest startup but it also didn't bother me much. i'm not certain what the right comparison is though for startup time - the motif may not be the most analogous.

the kronos seems to be somewhere past the traditional workstation and more similar to the hybrid keyboard computers i.e., open labs, music computing, etc. and a dedicated music computer.

just my quick though out loud....

But Kronos doesn't need to do everything that a general-purpose computer needs to do. Unnecessary things could be stripped out of Linux to make it boot faster, like network stuff. So if most of the time spent is attributed to Linux boot time, I'd think that can be improved on a lot. But if they're doing other unknown things like checking the file system for errors or missing files, or doing hardware diagnostics, then it may be more justified.

We'll I'm currently gigging with my old Trinity Plus, Wavestation SR and an 88 note controller, all linked to my laptop running Brainspawn Forte and a bunch of softsynths.
Haven't timed the bootup for a while but 2 mins and less gear to worry about is looking pretty good to me!

Life is full of boot time. A lot goes on during the startup process of systems powered by an embedded OS.

My phone takes about a minute and it’s got a lot less to do than a synthesizer. My cable TV box takes a ridiculous 5 minutes to boot. The Kronos boot time isn’t so bad.

My m3 start up in 2.45 minutes...:
I ask many times how much time the start up in kronos...
The awnsers... From 40 seconds to 2.30 minutes....
Some users toll me... Buy a ups... Battery backup...

How many wave data load in the start up?
This is a big dfference between kronos and motif....
And the combi, setup, option dont find in any other keyboard in the market...
The perfomance motif its only four programs....
I think ...
This is not a big bug.

I live with my m3 with exb256.... And almost 3 minutes startup.
Startup a blackberry or a android phone.....

XF takes 45 seconds. But new versions have a secret switch. You press it, wait 75 seconds and it become a Kronos...

Why should the booting time be a problem?
Kronos like Oasys has a lot of stuff to boot and once the booting process is finished all works very quickly.
The only situation that time could matter is if a blackout appears during a live gig, but hey then all has to be set up new and hopefully you have a USV

, which I strongly recommed anyway.
