Great patches by Dan Stesco
Dan Stesco has posted patches from his Youtube demo in the Karma Forum.
http://www.karma-lab.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18300
There's pretty interesting and impressive stuff among it. Check it out!
My favorite is a seemingly simple and straightforward sound: the Victor Bass. It is a deep, round electric bass with nice staccato slapping and added harmonics: very musical in context!
Great job, Dan!

I had asked him on youtube some days ago, and he just referred to putting the sounds from his demo online.
But to me he makes the impression of someone having fun and skill enough to do more.

I definitely appreciate the bass. It is very useable and musical, and I couldn't care less about it's naming. Still I strictly condradict and say yes: it's definitely close to the Wooten sound. Just listen to pieces like "Sifu" on Victor's homepage.
Chris, I guess we could take the strictness of your judgement more serious after your first great demo and/or useful patches you deliver. It is always easier to exercise hyperbolic critisism on the nice, gratuious work of others than to be creative yourself.
You could become creative yourself on the Kronos or the JP80, which you named so easy and deep to program, just as you like
I have my ears wide open!

Totally agree with you jim! It's amazing how easily we judge people and things these days. With the internet, everybody has his opinion posted worldwide in secods. But there's a fine line between positive and constructive criticism and those who just bash and diss people left and right. A lot of people should think a little carefully before posting.jimknopf wrote:

Ohhhh...almost forget: I've been following Dan's works on the Karma-labs since he started posting his combs for the M3.
He's been a gracious guy with everyone who asks for help in the forums there. Always available to help and share his amazing skills as a programmer.
His combis are fantastic. Keep shinning Mr. Tesco. Your talent and the always FREE combis and advices are very much appreciated by a lot of your peers.
The minimum that you deserve is a big applause from me.

Hello and thank you. All your suggestion and critics are welcome.
Chris have right. The bass is not a pure Wooten tone. Is impossible to play like him. Also the Tony Banks sounds can be perfect if we talk to him. If pitch down the timbre 1,from +12 to 0 value the combi gets better.Ok...I will edit the patch again cause I like the song very much. So I try to review all sounds for the next pack. Also your ideas and requests can be constructive.
Best regards.
Dan

Your patch programming is very welcome, Dan, thanks!
Of course it is clear that you can't just copy half a dozen Wooten bass sounds (he doesn't play just one) and come really close, without resampling his gear carefully. But at least I can recognize a similarity to some well known Wooten sound, and the Victor bass is well useable.
