Ribbon Controller problem

Post by ricorox »

Anyone know if the ribbon controller from a classic 61 can be cleaned? I had a horrible problem that surfaced with weird pitch/filter/mod problem, and after I disconnected the ribbon controller, everything was fine. And if I should replace it, where to get one?

Hi. I've had similar experiences. If you take out the ribbon module (something I haven't done yet) and clean the surface of it it should work fine from that point on. If you want me to try it on mine and put together a little how-to on How to clean a dirty ribbon controller, I can do that, but let me know if it would be of any use. :D

If cleaning it would solve any issues then, yes please, I would love to know how it works out for you and how you went about it. Thanks for the offer!

I'm putting it together right now, I'll post it as a topic in the forum in a few minutes. No problem! I always love to help. :D
