KRONOS Audio Driver

hello guys, with this forum help I was able to setup USB-MIDI driver from the Korg original DVD hopefully Korg will fix the driver on the website,

now I am trying to USE KRONOS audio driver, I am able to select KRONOS as wdm driver in sonar I don't think KRONOS has ASIO driver?, setup the resolution accordingly (audio driver bit depth is 24, sampling rate is 48000 etc) now how do I match the timing, even with the same tempo, same tick resolution there is a lag in audio recording the timing is out, I hope my question makes sense, what time code you guys are using? by the way I am using the USB cable to record the audio NOT the analog/ digital out of KRONOS and using Sonar x1C

Please see my response in that thread. As far as I know, the DVD and website have the same driver. Please let me know if I'm missing something.

This is a question for Cakewalk; generally audio apps allow timing alignment. I'd encourage you to contact their technical support staff.

Dan, if no real Asio driver will be available for the Kronos onboard audio, will the editor software at least support other soundcards with Asio drivers?

With my Access TI I can use the VST-plugin with either the Access soundcard in the TI, or with any other soundcard.

As things stand today, you can use aggregate devices to route audio from the KRONOS via USB, through the computer, and on to the outputs of another audio device, ASIO or otherwise. That's not a matter for the Korg drivers, but rather for the OS and DAW software.

you must be absolutely right regarding the 32 bit and 64 bit issue, however that does not explain why the drivers from the website did not work

and the driver from the DVD did and it was not only for me, other poster reported the exact same findings? I did not made any other changes to the

hardware or software? anyway I must have missed something, thanks Dan..

Perhaps I misunderstood. It seemed like the drivers from the website worked when re-installed. This seemed like a Windows issue. Let me know if you are referring to a specific message.

That would be because there is no ASIO driver. ASIO's main feature is that it provides for latency correction and synchronisation of audio streams.
Korg's failure to produce an ASIO driver is a blaring omission IMHO.

There are programs like 'ASIO4ALL' (in fact, that is the only one I know of) that reduce latency through some clever programming but they do not provide true latency correction. they merely 'wrap' the WDM driver in an ASIO interface.

I don't think it's a problem on the mac because there are no ASIO drivers. CoreAudio provides similar functionality built in and allows you to build aggregate devices - not possible on windows.

Recording audio using the USB connection works best, I've discovered, if you use the MME driver mode in Sonar. Granted it's only 32-bit, but it works correctly. When I first received my Kronos, I experimented with the various driver modes offered by Sonar and found that the MME driver offered the best results.
