You edited it instead of deleting it. You even edited your admission to double posting hahah
And I rarely if ever hand out patches. Example: http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=54422

Here's the deal Nigel, be nice to the community, and don't troll unless you want to get banned. Simple.

Nigel, perhaps you don't know that we are all volunteers around here. So we all get to decide who we help, and how we help, so your approach of name calling isn't likely to get anyone to help you or provide more information. When we have complete liberty to choose who we help, being told what we should or shouldn't be doing is a good way for us to decide not to help you, just because we don't want to, based on your attitude alone. We are more inclined to ignore your future messages, or show you the door so you can apply for a refund at GFY.

I've been on this forum for sometime, but still have a hard time deciding which peep is superior. Can you help :?:

Nigel wrote:So instead of being supercilious arrogant peeps, you so called patch experts should share, explain and demonstrate and maybe fulfil some patch requests just to educate us plebs!
I think it's a case of "give a man a fish" vs "teach a man to fish" -- the point is that helping one person who comes asking for a patch is fine, but when five people a week ask for similar patch, and just want that exact sound and will go away again, those experts are just getting used and noone's learning anything.

the patch requests I see here never say "how can I learn to get the sound I want", instead it's always "give me the exact steps to reproduce the sound off this chart record" ... or not even wanting the steps, just wanting a file they can upload directly and not have to tweak anything - how is that learning? how does giving someone a .rdp/.r3p file educate anyone?

P.S. before you lump me in with the experts assuming that's why I wrote that, I'm hopeless at programming my R3, so I'm in the pleb camp, I just get why people respond the way they do

I think the best peep was the second one, and it was the best peep in every box ;) which well, is quite suprising. lol.

and btw, nigel i entirely agree with you but before you start trolling us worse than i troll korgforums, make an afrojack patch and post step by step instructions explaining why you do this and that. Cause, if your such an expert, you should be able to do that now.

what?! he never said he's an expert, he said he's learning slowly and making nice sounds - he should be applauded for that and for teaching himself (if not for calling people names)

sometimes everyone on the web needs to remember a simple rule: don't be a dick

How do I edit or delete a post?

Unless you are the board admin or forum moderator you can only edit or delete your own posts. You can edit a post (sometimes for only a limited time after it was made) by clicking the edit button for the relevant post. If someone has already replied to the post, you will find a small piece of text output below the post when you return to the topic that lists the number of times you edited it. This will only appear if no one has replied; it also will not appear if moderators or administrators edit the post (they should leave a message saying what they altered and why). Please note that normal users cannot delete a post once someone has replied.
Back to top! Bit of an admin loop really ;)
I’m sure I will be educated soon :)

The point is, I do not need help. Some others here do! I am a newbie but am finding my way with synthesis. Some of you guys come across as supercillious. Thats all.
