R3 Accessories??

Post by ErictheIsaac »

*I am extremely new to sythns and music production in general*

I just ordered a korg R3 and i have a couple of questions. What Cords/accessories should i look into buying to tap into the full potential of the R3? Nanokontrol? audio outputs? Any other general information would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Well what is it that you are looking to do with it?? Options can be limitless.
Korg R3, Roland SH-201, Roland MC-909, Novation Mininova, Novation Impulse 49, Korg EMX, and a bunch of VSTi's

Coffee. Lot's and lots of coffee. Maybe a large french press will help.

When you get the R3, hook it up via a USB cable to a computer, then download the latest version of the editor librarian software and the USB-midi driver. Then spend oodles of hours with the editor learning how the R3 works inside. That's where the coffee becomes a useful accessory.

Agreed. Lol I bought the Radias 6 months ago and haven't touched the editor yet, the synth is so complex. I probably should though since editing would be much easier.

A Behringer BCR2000 MIDI controller would be great. More knobbage for the R3 since it's MIDI CC set up is really flexible. I'd get one myself, but been strapped for cash.

If you get headphones they need to be comfortable and they must sound good . If you like to share your music with your surroundings powered studio monitors might be useful . Remember that a £449 synth played through cheap speakers or headphones is almost a criminal act.
If your short on cash SAVE UP and buy something that will improve your setup not hold it back.
I'm sure there's an equation to workout if you spend X on a synth you should spend Y on speakers .
