As a former owner of the Yamaha DX7 and now current user of the Native Instrument's FM7, I can say right now that the software emulates EVERY aspect of that synthesizer soundwise and sounds exactly the same when played through an amp.

And Morshu, you have stated that you only own the R3 and microKORG, both being digital synthesizers that behave exactly like the software they were created on. Once again, you don't know what you're talking about.

Digital = Software. Please get your facts straights.

End of debate.

does that mean if my hardware synth sounds bad it will go to hell?

do you believe in the doctrine of Original Sine?

not true, i also have a juno 106

;)

and that is a rare example of a near perfect emulation. but personally I think that it still doesnt quite beat the real thing.

and um no, there is not such a thing as a bad sounding hardware synth.
Even a Casio SK-1 or wierd synth pocket calculator has its benefits.
Only software is able to be damned to hell o.o although, thankfully the majority of FREE vsts are better than the ones you can buy. I would use 3osc over zeta any day. ;) I'm serious.

The Juno 106 is a "near perfect" emulation...? Emulation of what? And how isn't it a real thing when you're stating there is no such thing as bad sounding hardware?

You know, I'll give you credit for actually starting an decent discussion for a change, but again, it's resulting in you making some extremely confusing statements.

Morshu, seriously, stop repeating the comments made by other 17-year-olds from HarmonyCentral. You think digital hardware synths always sound better than software ones? 95 percent of today's hit record producers disagrees with you. The synth manufacturers themselves disagree with you (we were talking about Nord and Virus, both of which have made versions that run on your computer and sound identical).

But never mind, it's not really worth trying to convince you. It's just a shame that you're completely missing the boat on what's happening in synth development right now, if you dismiss vsts like this.

i think they dont realize how much better they can make the real hardware sound with effort. maybe its not worth it, but i think it is.

Is it a bannable offense to talk rubbish and insist your silly opinions are facts?

I'd hope he just gets a clue and stops repeating the same thing about "hardware good, software bad" as though it's fact, rather than tedious, subjective opinion

hehe Even the utmost idiocy repeated enough number of times makes peeps believe its true :( (heard it's about 44 times). Think our " beloved little divil" is around number of 10. On the other hand i understand the official line of the administration of the forum for promoting freedom of speech and their trust that he can learn something substantial about real life (read: V.A. and the synthezis) instead of repeating heard superstitions :) (read: BS). But the more posts come the less is my understanding of such peaceful and full of love attitude.

Oh for f*ck's sake ban....
This is so pathetic
For anyone who has an issue with Morshu's lies and patch request spamming I strongly suggest writing Sharp. Here is a link to his pm box:
http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... post&u=294
Drop him a line and tell him how you feel. If multiple people get his attention maybe he'll do something about it.
How can Ozy get banned but Morshu can run amok? Doesn't make sense.
