Just to confirm that Kronos DOES NOT Load SF2 with OS 1.5!

Post by BasariStudios »

I am talking about SF2s that i would like to have and create my way,
it was advertised that it Loads SF2 and i expected it but it doesnt.
Please don't come up to this with stuff like:
''Oh mine does with no problem, i downloaded them for free on the net''
I am not talking about crap from the internet, i am talking about something
usefull that you can create your self. It just wont Load, it gets stuck at a
certain percentage or on some Loads, the Samples are there but no Sound.
My procedure?:
Create a Sound in Kontakt 2, save it as an NKI then in ESC converted to
SF2, then i also tried the same SF2 to reconvert to SF2 in Awave, none of
them works...why i dont know.

Thanks

Have you tried a different converter/conversion process to eliminate some little compatibility problem with the way you're currently creating them? Not suggesting that it's not a Korg problem, just something to try. :)

I cant...how much money i have to spend on converters? i already spent
almost a thousand dollars on these 3, ESC, AS and CST. None works.
It'll cost me more then Kronos itself.

That's interesting, I may have to load some old sf files I made and used on the M3, see if they load. Do a before and after on the 1.5 update. I think I made mine with CST as well, from old akai discs.

Further details would be necessary in order to re-create the problem - which is the first step towards finding a solution.

Please contact the product support department for your national Korg distributor (I believe that's Korg USA in your case), and they should be able to help. They will probably need to have an example of the problematic data.

how did you do it?

I do as follow:
Open Extreme Smaple Converter
Use VSTi Converter as source format
Use a sound from OMnisphere
Set Soundfont 2 as destination format (tried with instrument and with bank
Convert

Load the sf2 file in the kronos: no sound in the program.
It does changes the program name, it does load the samples (as i can see in the sampling source screen), but i hear no sound in the created program by the sf2 file. I do hear sounds in the 'sampling'screen when i individually load sample

any help?
