Those pictures of the Kronos keybed are embarassing!!

It's unbelievable it passed QC..

Wow, I didn't know that the keybed was THAT bad!!!!
I thought it'd be better than the Oasys, but perhaps this is only on some models, a factory fault for the first few hundred produced?

both the pics he posted were from the same Kronos. So, 1 bad Kronos with uneven keys out of how many sold?

It would explain a lot $\:D/$

To save money, Korg have sent out a tube of denture-fix to all Kronos data wheel jugglers whether they have false teeth or not

Oh and er, before you ask............it's a different Kronos..........so that's at least two for the scrap yard

Probably because the Kronos is a cheap copy of the OASYS so the cheapest option is to copy its OS as well ergo - no piano roll in OASYS = no piano in Kronos.

And recently had a thought - all these new (payable) goodies for the Kronos... Remarkably similar to the business model established for the OASYS (another element copied presumably) - so the logical conclusion is that Korg will do the same for the Kronos as it did for the OASYS - give them away for free

So, if you are wise, you'll hold onto your money and wait for the freebies...

Thats true I suppose and I hope not many Kronos's will have faults. Am sure they will fix the production run as the faults are addressed.

But can your Kronos do this?:

That's a disgrace and the profit motive is probably indicative that Korg have used inferior parts inside the Kronos. So how long before we hear that the electronics start failing ?

- same sound engines in Kronos/Oasys but no compatibility
- midi sys exclusiv data that is needed for converting programs not realeased only for Oasys
-Karo stopped also supporting Oasys /creating new libraries also for Oasys

.... well Korg thats really a special treatment for customers .....

To me it´s not having one or more libraries available for my O, but I strongly dislike the policy/spirit behind that. Why not also sell STR1/MOD 7 libraries to OASYS customers? If Korg wanted to do that it would be quite easily to convert but obviously they don´t WANT!.

And don´t count me in to buy a second hand Kronos before my O breaks and cannot be serviced - and till then all the libraries and added engines are also given for free to those who never bought and then it´s maybe a deal

As a neutral, even with the Kronos out there, i'm still considering an Oasys. The temptation is there. If people pay xxx and the reason to justify the cost (to themselves at the time), is because of a broken promise? I think they're entitled to feel hard done by. Someone mentioned 10 years and I think that's bang on. Sony do it. I applaud though, Korgs ambition.

In addition to that, if Korg make a gesture and that, in the mind of Oasys owners, doesn't cover the amount they feel their owed, then that's fair too, after all disappointment is not a manufactured emotion.

What Korg should do, is recognize a Market. That niche market of Oasys owners (theres not many in the grand scheme of things) who want to use their Oasys for 3/4/5 or whatever years more - people who would then probably say yes! I want a Kronos now -but are NOT ready yet.

So the opening poster, while he could have been more elegant - to me, is doing what I would do. The oasys is still relevant. If Korg put in a little effort, i'm sure Oasys owners would be willing to pay a little more then Kronos Owners - bearing in mind any additional work.

It's 17/12/11 and i'm thinking Oasys ...Oasys...Kronos ..and clearly there's still $$$ to be made lol. What people should do is bombard these companies out there, maybe even make a list of 'supporters' and show these companies that there is still interest in the product and if you support 'us', we'll support you. Money at the end of the day, is money.

btw: was reading stephen kays post on karma labs - when he had an early oasys 76 and he was talking about the serial number and how glad he was to see there were so many zeros on it. It kinda gave the idea the oasys would be popular to the point they'd make a shed load more then the 3000+..why all the zeros? I mean when Korg knew it wouldn't sell well...it's interesting, just wondering if that was a ploy on korgs part.

Oh and the piano roll is a selling point. A nice feature in the m3. I doubt it'll go the route of the Kronos, but you never know.
