BEST keyboard that I have ever purchased.

Post by runningman67 »

If it breaks tomorrow, it doesn't make it the worst keyboard I have ever purchased. I'd be gutted but it would make it, the best keyboard that I have ever purchased but its broken.

It is a seriously good keyboard.

EXACTLY.

This synth is only limited by the person using it... And once the updates to improve it start rolling in... watch out!!!!

I mean yes there have been issues, but STILL!!!!!

This is one amazing piece of equipment.

Maybe the reason Yamaha's QC is so good is because they last 4 flagships that they have released have been DANG NEAR the EXACT same as it's previous unit with some minor upgrades....

reminds me of Madden 2003,2004,2005,2006,2007,2008,2009,2010,2011...
game does get better each time, but you don't miss a lot if you don't upgrade each one...(i've even heard people say, madden basically just gets a roster update.)

Motif is tried and true!!! YES, but at the same time it's TIRED!!!!

Kronos is a fresh new experience that is ONLY limited by its end user.

PS. I'm thankful to have both, but I really enjoy the Kronos more... if it had pattern mode, I might be inclined to.... never mind, I'm not gonna even say it. LOL

(still missing the fantom G (a little))

They both sound amazing, but the Kronos kinda screams play with me!!! turn my knobs and push my buttons!!! lol

Thanks for supporting my post Apex and Ron and anybody else who posts.

I did not want to be controversial for the sake of it. The title to 'the other' post makes me cringe, to think that newbies might see it and get the complete wrong impression about the Kronos.

For me it's a toss up between the Oasys and Kronos for best. I love the Kronos piano and weight, but the O's 10 inch screen is great live and studio.
It would be okay if I had the only Kronos. No one else has to like it.

Having owned Synthes since 1972 I think I'm qualified to say that this is the best machine out there bar none. Mine never fails to amaze me. Granted, sometimes it annoys me to no end but that's just because of my lack of knowledge. eg: I just found some set-lists I thought were lost forever. Yay!
If music is the food of love, play on and play loud!
Gear: Kronos 73, Wavestation EX, Polysix, King Korg, Monotron and Monotron Duo, Minikorg, Moog Grandmother, my very old MiniKorg, 4 acoustic and 9 electric guitars, 1 Ibanez 5 string bass, a Steel guitar, a bunch of microphones, 2 pairs of studio monitors and other very cool toys, 1 wife and 4 cats and a lava lamp!

I started with the Korg X5 (still have it).
After that I bought the N264, Triton Extreme and M50.

Each of these synths was a step up compared to the predecessor. I never bought two synths of the same 'range'(i.e. two Tritons, two Ms etc).

However, the Kronos is really a bigger step up than before, because its features are far more extensive. Also the sound difference is bigger than before which is somewhat strange, because normally over time the feature/quality increase gradually goes slower.

It's the first synth that after 3 months I still have to discover a lot that has not been touched (like all the engines).

But isn't that exactly what the Kronos is an Oasys with some minor upgrades (minus the build quality of course).

AS far as minor upgrades . I wouldn't call Flash memory ,16 ch of fire wire to your daw, wireless ipad apps and Karma 3 minor upgrades .

Looks like the motif Just upped the ante . Karma 3 is looking absolutly amazing !

All I can say about the Motif is at least it works and if it's good enough for Stevie Wonder than it's good enough for me.
