Good external effects processor

Post by 49erkid »

Hello people,

I am in the market to buy a good effects processor to add to my gear, to be used in conjunction with my Radias and Triton Rack.

Wondering if anybody has any experience with the following

Alesis Midiverb 4
Behringer fx2000
Lexicon mx300

Ok cool, and thanks ahead for any help on this one.

Have you fully explored the effects section on both the Radias and Triton Rack? The reason I ask is that all three of the effect units you've listed are digital, and if you're only getting them just for your synths, there's a good chance you'll end up paying for something that is already available on the Radias and Triton. I know the Radias/R3 has an incredible effects section, and quick Google search on the Trition Rack shows that it has five insert effects, then two master effects.

And you even could use the R3dias as an effects processor for other audio sources using its audio inputs ;)

Thanks guys for the idea to use Radias built n effects, that is something I had not looked into, I plan to use my mackie 1202 mixer auxiliary send and receive channel to incorporate the effects into other gear hooked up to the mixer. If anybody has done as setup like this in the past, I would be happy to hear if it's even possible, I am new doing external effects, but I'm sure I will figure it out.

The Radias has some really high quality FX built in, as does the R3. They are based on the FX available in the KP3 and are very flexible with a number of parameters.

On its own, the Radias makes a good FX rig, with a bit of clever programming. There are up to 9 simultaneous FX slots to work with, as well as processing with filters, waveshaper/drive, ring modulation, etc in the voices themselves. I've done a few guitar amp type setups and vocal processing programs with the Radias.

Hey fellow Korg users,

Update on external effects processor, I Lucked out and I found a mint condition Alesis "Wedge" external effects processor, this one is no longer being made but what a nice unit, the effects are incredible, highly underrated unit in my opinion. I connected to the aux send of my mackie vlz mixer and it works like a charm. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.
