Kronos and SoundFont 2!
Dan, Rich or anyone? Whats up with the SF2 Loading? I havent successfully
Loaded one yet...it either gets stuck or File Unavailable or it Loads and the
Samples are MUTED. Which SF2 Files is it supposed to Load exactly?
SF2s Saved in ESC 3.9 or AWAVE Studio 10.01 are the files i use.
ESC i dont know in what version but AS Saves in SF2 2.04 Version of SF2.
Any clarification?
Thanks

Nadim,
I have the same problem and I sent many files to Korg USA support but never got a reply or an answer.
For some reason, if you load a large file SF2 in the Kronos then it will then FREEZE. The same case was in the M3 and Korg never fixed it.
I think the SF2 conversion is poorly implemented in both M3 and Kronos.

Korg M3 and Kronos
Yes and this is very dis-heartening to me. I very much purchased a Kronos with this specific function in mind. It was messed up on the m3 and has still not been corrected on the Kronos.
I hope that it's addressed and resolved in the 1.5 update.
There are some work-arounds but the take TONS of time...
has something to do with the start/end point of the imported sample.

Has there been some crazy cool sf development in the last handful of years? I scoured the net looking for them back in the Gigastudio days...mostly antique tiny samples...mostly home grown...I got a couple cool Sonic Implants drum kits with some purchase...they were good enough to use years ago...but, really--what's the driver for so many wanting this compatibility in a $3k+ workstation?

Cuz the 3+K Workstation doesnt have a basic Sampling Toor or Editor inpopmann wrote:what's the driver for so many wanting this compatibility in a $3k+ workstation?
Software Version...to create a Multisample you have to kill your self doing it.
But if you create it in Kontakt or elsewhere on the PC (which is fast and easy)
and then export it as SF2 on the Kronos will just Load in 1 Second.
Do you now GET the Driver or Fuss about this?

How can you be sure that AWave and ESC are creating 100% compliant SF2 files? Are you sure the fault isn't with these conversion tools?
It would indeed by nice to have a Sample Editor that runs on PC (not sure if Korg's plugin editor will have this). If not, I'm happy to investigate the feasibility of developing a simple multi-sample editor.
Either way, editing samples on the Kronos is a dream compared to the Triton LE ...
Anyone know if the sample format for the Kronos is simlar to that of the Triton?
