I have a question about the Korg R3.

Post by gregbankley »

So I have a big (kind of old) yamaha keyboard , that is great, but I just got a korg r3. I have a couple questions.

Is it possible to hook up the R3 to the Yamaha keyboard, so I have more keys to use? THere is a MIDI IN and OUT on the back of both machines, so I didn't know if that was possible.

Secondly, the yamaha came with a pedal that unplugs, and also fits into the back of the R3. THere is a pedal slot that I plugged it in, but I can't get any effect out of the pedal. Can you use a yamaha pedal with a korg synthesizer?

If you want to use the Yamaha keyboard to control the R3, hook a midi cable from the Yamaha midi out to the R3 midi in.

The pedal settings are configured under the global settings. It's easiest to use the R3 Editor Librarian software to see these settings and to change them, as well as to learn how the R3 works.

Download it from Korg's website. It's under the R3 drivers, software, and support.
