Using a vocoder takes a lot of practice and experimenting to get a clear result. There are no simple and automatic ways to tailor a vocoder patch to work for your voice. You need to learn about all of the aspects of how vocoding works, particularly the meaning and importance of the carrier. For example, it is nearly impossible to get a good vocode that is understandible if you start with a simple carrier, such as a sine wave. You need a rich and complex carrier so that there are frequencies available to be cut and enhanced in the vocal range. There are some vocoder patches available for download on this forum. Just look in the download section.

We all share the task of responding, and since we live in different countries and time zones, sometimes you'll see one of us reply and then someone else take over, like a tag team. I usually won't reply a second time if I feel the question has been answered well by someone else, since it's a waste of time to duplicate the same answer. I agree with x-trade and axxim about 99% of the time. I suggest you check out axxim's info on vocoding. I'm very pleased when I see them add their comments and I'm more than happy to see them continue the thread as they see fit.
