WHY is it microKORG does not work with e-mu midi 1x1 ???

Post by DK306 »

I know I'm not the first person to point this out on these boards or elsewhere on the net, but for whatever reason, it seems the microKORG cannot send midi messages through an E-MU 1x1 midi tab.

:?: Can a KORG employee explain why this is?

:?: Is this a Mac-specific problem? (I am running 10.6.8)

(Yes, I have the ins and outs plugged in correctly,
my microKORG is set up according to the owner's manual to transmit MIDI messages to an external sound source,
Pro Tools and Reason are configured correctly according to several YouTube tutorials in which midi controllers are used to trigger instruments, I have used multiple other midi controllers with identical set up and had no problems...)

Pro Tools and Reason both recognize the E-MU but no midi messages are coming through the inputs or triggering anything to happen with software instruments in PT9 or Reason3 ... HEEELLLPPP

I've already wasted an entire evening trouble shooting only to realize I am likely SOL.

So for anyone having similar problems... Hopefully someone answers this post with the solution we've all been missing. Otherwise, don't even bother trying to send MIDI out of an MK through an E-MU 1x1. The result will be a migraine...
