How SyncKontrol works...?

Post by MarcusCarab »

Has anyone looked at the output from SyncKontrol to see how it works?

I don't have an iPhone/iPad - but I want to sync my Monotribe... going to try to replicate the functionality using audio/metronome programs. I have already gotten a working basic sync going, with a configurable metronome app that let me drop the sound down to 1ms 100hz blips.

But I read that the official SyncKontrol app can also stop/start the Monotribe, and add swing to the beats. I can't figure out how this works. I suspect the Swing may have something to do with longer/pitched/overlapping tones - I got some weird stuttering beat sequences when playing longer sounds from my metronome app, but couldn't figure out how exactly they were happening. I thought start/stop might be something to do with voltage on different channels in a stereo connector, like the pins in traditional audio Sync, but I did some testing and couldn't get anything like that to work yet...

Anyone know more about what signals SyncKontrol sends?
