This is not a rant about unreliable hardware, but just my conclusion about RAM upgrades.
Today, I happened to find a 2GB stick of RAM lying around, and it conformed to all the RAM specs mentioned in the RAM upgrade thread on the forums. Since I wanted to try out the exs11 demo anyway, I decided to unscrew the board and add the RAM. It worked perfectly, showed 3,25 GB.
Then I installed the library, and loaded it, appending the sample data to RAM, so naturally filling up the second bank as well. As I was just fiddling around with the new samples, the board rebooted. I've been using it almost a year now without any problems like this, and the day I upgrade the RAM it happens, so it can hardly be a coincident.
I'll buy a new stick of RAM, probably spending a few more bucks than this unit probably costed. I just want to point out that it seems the Kronos is very sensitive to RAM, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is the cause of many of the reported reboots.
Added RAM today -> Kronos rebooted just now

No...I had issues with spontaneous reboots with ex11.
Unless its literally an issue with the last little bit of physical RAM registers, I've had just as much total RAM loaded in the Kronos and never had the issue--except while PLAYING (not playing something else while it was loaded) ex11.
There's a bug either in the library, I think, or in the Kronos's handling of HEAVY wave sequences like it uses (pretty uniquely).
I mean...it's possible that wav sequences stress the RAM subsystem more heavily and that exposes weakness in RAM, but...Ive had a LoT of my RAM filled with user and EX sample demos...and have had ZERO reboots except while playing WS presets of ex11. I'd put money on that being where the issue is...luckily I was not very impressed...Never loaded the demo back up...never had another reboot.

there is no seal.. so you should be good.. if you ever have an issue just put it back to the way it was.. If Korg was worried they would put a Hologram seal that has edge break and would give those to the service center to seal it back up.. Like a new seal with every part they ship out.. Yep.. But they dont.. So
